LA PIÙ FRESCA, QUASI DI GIORNATA

Prisma è l’acronimo di Prima Rete Italiana per la Sorveglianza sistematica di Meteore e dell’Atmosfera. E’ promossa e coordinata dall’Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF). Durante i primi tre anni di attività una cinquantina di telecamere (il loro numero è in continuo aumento), sparse sul territorio italiano, hanno raccolto 24 su 24 le immagini dei bolidi. Grazie alle immagini di una brillate meteora raccolte da otto telecamere è stato possibile trovare la prima meteorite “fresca”, ovvero raccolta a breve distanza di tempo dal giorno della caduta avvenuta nel Capodanno del 2020.

56, THE FRESHEST PRISMA METEORITE!

Prisma is the acronym for First Italian Network for the systematic Surveillance of Meteors and the Atmosphere. It is promoted and coordinated by the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF). During the first three years of activity, about fifty cameras (their number is continuously increasing), scattered throughout Italy, collected images of 24 fireballs. Thanks to the images of a bright meteor collected by eight cameras, it was possible to find the first “fresh” meteorite, that is, collected a short time after the day of the fall that occurred on New Year’s Eve in 2020.
