Artemest Collection by GACHOT: The New York Edit at Artemest Galleria
New York City, NY, October 2026. Following its premiere in Milan, Artemest Collection by GACHOT: The New York Edit makes its Manhattan debut at Artemest Galleria this October. For the second edition of Artemest’s first collection, The New York Edit is presented through the lens of 1990’s downtown loft culture, a nod to the creative world that greatly impacted John and Christine Gachot’s design perspective throughout the years.
Inspired by the raw, expansive lofts and iconic themed parties that defined the era, the installation evokes a time when New York’s art, culture and fashion communities gathered with an effortless sense of freedom and style. The exhibition aims to evoke the 1990’s vibe through a refined material palette: cool metallic finishes layered with warm brass, rich suedes and leathers, soft gray and ivory textiles, and richly lacquered surfaces in black, cream, and oxblood. The result is an environment where downtown loft meets GACHOT’s signature warmth, with a distinctly New York point of view.
Alongside the pieces first revealed in Milan, The New York Edit conveys GACHOT’s sense of nostalgia for the 1990’s, an era of such creativity and vibrance in New York City. The New York Edit introduces select works from the collection in new finishes, further expanding the material vocabulary that defines Artemest Collection by GACHOT: an ongoing dialogue between the clarity of American modernism and the depth and material richness of Italian craftsmanship.
“Having spent many years living in a downtown loft, we wanted to capture that sense of an open, welcoming, and evolving space. We raised our family in a loft on Bond Street, hosted many holidays and parties, and were very influenced creatively by that certain lifestyle as New Yorkers.”
“Our inspiration here is bringing together that energy and New York sensibility with the warmth and tradition of Italian craftsmanship that heavily inspired our conversations and collaboration with Artemest.”
John and Christine Gachot
“Artemest Collection is about giving the world’s most distinctive design voices a platform to express their vision through the extraordinary skills of Italian artisans. With GACHOT, this dialogue feels particularly natural: John and Christine bring a sensibility that is unmistakably New York, while our artisans translate that vision through Italian materials, craftsmanship and elegance. Bringing the collection to New York completes that exchange. The New York Edit is an expression of Italian savoir-faire seen through GACHOT’s very personal interpretation of the city, its culture and the way people live here.”
Marco Credendino, Founder and CEO of Artemest
Artemest Collection by GACHOT is the first in a series of original furniture collections under the Artemest brand, designed each year by a different international design firm and crafted entirely by Artemest’s network of master Italian artisans.
